IMC Club Night: the next IMC Club night will be held this Tuesday, April 10 at 7PM. One of the scenarios will be: “Some routes for IFR flight are direct at any altitude you want, and others are down a tunnel ATC assigns without room for compromise. How will you negotiate a route across limited airspace when there’s icing above, airline traffic below, a cold ocean to the left, and heavy snow approaching from the right?”  Heads in the clouds for this night J

JA World of Choice: CFC attended an event in Strathmore on March 28th set up by Junior Achievers called World of Choice. The goal of the event was to allow students to go from table to table and talk to different industry experts to show them future career possibilities. CFC as well as Air Canada and WestJet pilots were occupying the Aviation/Pilot table. We answered lots of questions and hopefully got some young girls and boys to join the aviation community.

Industry Night this Wednesday:  As a appropriate closing out of one the CFC`s largest Commercial Ground Schools (26 students),  we are inviting CFC Alumni and our aviation friends to stop by CFC from 6-8PM this Wednesday April 11.  A panel will talk about career options.  There will be time to mingle and learn from senior pilots.

Cadets 903 Strathmore: Last month, on March 24th, we welcomed a local squadron of cadets, 903 Strathmore, to CFC for their annual Flying Day(see attached photo).  We managed to get about 30 cadets up for some flight time throughout the day. Our instructor Howard took good care of them in the air. We want to thank Lt Irving for helping set up this great opportunity for the cadets. CFC is also looking into awarding some Commercial Ground School scholarships to cadets that have successfully completed their  PPL. Standby for the winners in future newsletters.  Community is important at CFC.

Private Pilot Ground School – The next private pilot ground school starts April 23rd.  Sign-up to learn to fly !  (Be prepared for a positive change in your life – Elevate your ride!)

Fuel Update: Through the fuel quarantine and shortage, CFC has managed to keep flying most days.  We apologize that sales of fuel to Members and third parties have been curtailed during the shortage.  While we have nothing definitive from the Imperial Oil refinery at this time, CFC expects to have normalized quantities of fuel available in the next few weeks.  We have provided an update as soon a reliable information is passed to us.
